Why You Can't Wait

The Process Takes
90 to 120 Days.

Most homeowners don't realize how long a proper generator installation takes. By the time a storm is named — it is already too late. Our customers who sleep well during hurricane season started this process in April or May.

📅
90–120
Days from first call to running generator
Permits, site engineering, concrete pad, electrical, county inspection — each step takes time. There are no shortcuts after a storm is named.
📦
48 hrs
Until units sell out once a storm is named
South Florida Generac inventory disappears within 48 hours of the first named storm every year. Pre-season availability won't last.
📞
50+
Calls we receive in the first 48 hours of storm season
We physically cannot help everyone who calls once the season starts. Priority always goes to the customers who booked in May.
First Come, First Served. Our installation crews have a fixed capacity each month. Once May slots are full, we cannot take new bookings until June — when storm season has already begun. Reserve your spot today.
How the Installation Process Works
Every step, from your first call to your generator running
1
Week 1–2
Free in-home consultation & quote
A certified consultant visits your home at no cost. We assess your power load, home size, gas supply, and any special needs. You get a same-day written quote.
2
Week 2–4
Engineering plan & permit filing
We prepare your site engineering project and file permits with Broward or Miami-Dade county. You do nothing — we handle all paperwork and follow-up.
3
Week 4–8
Permit approval & equipment order
County permit approval typically takes 7–14 business days. Your Generac unit is ordered and allocated to your job while we wait.
4
Week 8–14
Site prep, installation & gas line
Concrete pad poured, unit delivered, structural and electrical installation completed by our Generac-certified crew. Gas line tied in. All in one coordinated visit.
5
Week 14–17
County inspection, startup & walkthrough
Licensed inspector signs off. We activate your generator, configure GenMonitor remote monitoring, and give you a complete walkthrough. You're done.
⚠ Once a storm is named, permit offices backlog and crews are fully booked. This 90–120 day process cannot be compressed. The only way to be ready for June 1 is to start right now.
The Real Risk

What a Power Outage Actually Costs Your Family

Three days without power in South Florida isn't an inconvenience. It's a financial hit, a health risk, and a crisis. Here's what our customers told us after the last major storm season.

🛒
$800–$1,200
Average food spoilage loss
A fully stocked South Florida refrigerator goes bad in 4 hours without power. Your freezer in 48. One outage wipes out everything in both.
🏨
$300–$600
Hotel & relocation costs
Families with young children or elderly relatives can't stay in a dark, 90°F home. A 3-night hotel stay in Broward during storm season easily exceeds $600.
💊
Medical Crisis
For power-dependent households
1 in 4 American homes depends on electricity for a medical device — CPAP, oxygen concentrators, insulin refrigeration. A power outage becomes a medical emergency.

Common Questions

What South Florida
Homeowners Ask Us

How long does the full installation process really take?
The complete process — from your first call to a running, inspected generator — takes 90 to 120 days under normal conditions. This includes consultation, engineering, permit filing, permit approval (7–14 business days), equipment delivery, installation, and the county final inspection. During active storm season, every stage of this process takes significantly longer due to backlog.
Why is it "first come, first served"?
Our installation crews have a fixed capacity — a set number of jobs they can complete each month. We don't overbook or rush installations. Once our May slots are full, we cannot start new projects until June. Every family that books today is ahead of every family that calls tomorrow. The only way to guarantee your slot is to reserve it now.
What's included in the FREE 7-Year Warranty?
The 7-Year Warranty covers parts and labor for any covered mechanical failure on your Generac unit for 7 full years from installation date. It includes priority service response — especially during storm season — and is transferable to a new homeowner if you sell. It's included automatically with every installation booked in May 2026 at no additional cost to you.
Do I need a permit? Do I have to handle that myself?
Yes — whole-home standby generators require permits from your county's building department. No, you don't handle any of it. Generator Supercenter files your permit application, prepares the engineering plan, follows up with the county, and coordinates the final inspection. You sign nothing and wait for nothing. It's part of our turnkey A-to-Z service.
What size generator does my home need?
It depends on your square footage, electrical load, number of AC units, and any special equipment. Our certified consultants assess your exact needs during the free in-home visit and recommend the right unit size. A 1,000–2,500 sq ft home typically needs 10–18kW; homes over 4,000 sq ft may need 22–26kW or more.
What fuel does a whole-home generator use?
Most whole-home Generac standby generators run on natural gas (connected directly to your home's gas line) or liquid propane. There are no gas cans, no fuel storage, and no risk of running out during a storm. The generator monitors your utility power 24/7 and turns on automatically the moment an outage is detected — in under 10 seconds.
